Our story: Over 5 decades of responsive accounting

What started as a small practice has evolved into one of Pennsylvania’s most trusted accounting partnerships. Since 1972, the Ocker name has been synonymous with personalized financial guidance across South Central Pennsylvania.

When Mike Ocker took the reins from his father, Don, in 2000, he brought a vision of what accounting could be—responsive, clear, and genuinely helpful. Sharleen Fazzolari joined the team in 2009 and became partner in 2020.That vision transformed a 4-person office into a thriving firm with three strategic locations serving Chambersburg, Waynesboro, McSherrystown and Hanover.

Ahead of the curve; always in your corner

While other firms clung to paper and traditional methods, we embraced the digital future—going paperless in 1999 before most accountants even considered it possible. This forward-thinking approach continues today with secure client portals providing 24/7 access to your financial information.

We don’t adopt technology just to be modern. We carefully select tools that solve real problems for our clients—eliminating wait times, simplifying document sharing, and making your financial picture accessible whenever you need it.

What hasn’t changed in five decades? Our commitment to being the responsive partner who explains things clearly, returns your calls promptly, and treats your financial success as our personal mission.

Our mission

Our journey to better accounting

Ocker Accountants & Consultants was founded with a simple mission: provide accounting services that clients actually understand and appreciate. Too many businesses were frustrated by unresponsive accountants who spoke in jargon rather than clear explanations.

We built our firm differently—around the principles of responsive communication, practical explanations, and a genuine commitment to being in our clients’ corner. Today, we’re proud to serve businesses throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia with this refreshing approach to accounting.
